Subject: Urgent Request for Investigation and Immediate Intervention to Protect Babarkot Reserve Forest and Asiatic Lion Habitat
Respected Sir/Madam,
I respectfully submit this representation to draw your kind attention towards certain serious developments reported in and around the Babarkot area of Gir East Forest Division, Gujarat, which may have significant implications for forest conservation, wildlife protection, and ecological sustainability.
As per information available in the public domain and concerns raised by nature lovers and environmental groups, approximately 75 hectares of reserve forest land in the Babarkot region may be affected by proposed developmental and mining-related activities. It is apprehended that more than 5,000 mature trees could be removed, potentially affecting a sensitive wildlife corridor and an ecologically significant habitat associated with the Asiatic Lion.
Further concerns have been raised regarding:
Proposed mining activities within or near ecologically sensitive forest areas.
Exceptional permissions allegedly granted for settlement/residence within protected forest zones.
Alleged irregularities related to construction activities, road development, and removal of forest protection structures in reserve forest areas.
Such actions, if found inconsistent with applicable environmental and wildlife protection laws, may result in irreversible ecological damage, fragmentation of wildlife habitats, increased human-wildlife conflict, and long-term threats to the survival of Asiatic Lions.
Note: this activity we are doing to shake the government and system as I am Resource person in Sasan gir nature education department activity and many like us other putting the efforts But as we know how much corrupt Blind dum and duff our system becomes and it's also our moral responsibility for mother earth π so let's raise our voice together as every where this is happening from Ladakh to Adman Nicobar from Gujarat to West Bengal Assam Odisha every where.
