I would like to express my concern that Vedritam Group (DAV Group of Schools) institutions across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry have denied CBSE students the opportunity to study Skill Subjects such as Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Physical Education, and other similar electives. Especially in DAV SM Fomra, Kelambakkam; which is where I, myself, study.
This decision has a direct impact on students' education and future opportunities. Skill Subjects help students develop practical knowledge, digital skills, critical thinking, and career-ready competencies that are becoming increasingly important. They also allow students to choose subjects based on their interests and future goals.
By not offering these subjects, students are placed at a disadvantage compared to those in other CBSE schools who have access to the full range of subject choices. It limits their academic flexibility, affects their career preparation, and goes against the spirit of the CBSE curriculum and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which encourages skill-based and holistic education.
I sincerely request that this issue be addressed so that students are given equal opportunities to learn and prepare for their future.
Also, there were some allegations against Vedritam, that their exam paper called protesting farmers ‘violent maniacs’, which were part of an English Revision Exam question paper for Class 10 Students. I actually heard of this when studying 8th grade (2024) and was kinda skeptical about these allegations that they are spreading propaganda
