In Support of the Students' Protest
Today, the students gathered at Jantar Mantar have exercised a fundamental democratic right—the right to peacefully express their concerns and demand accountability. A healthy democracy depends on citizens, especially young people, being able to raise their voices without fear.
Many of these students believe that the current BJP-led government has not adequately addressed their concerns. They are calling for greater transparency, fairness, and policies that prioritize education, employment, and the welfare of ordinary citizens. Whether one agrees with every demand or not, their voices deserve to be heard with respect.
Peaceful protest is not a threat to democracy—it is one of its greatest strengths. Governments should listen to criticism, engage in constructive dialogue, and respond through democratic processes rather than dismissing dissent.
India grows stronger when differences are debated peacefully and every citizen's constitutional rights are respected.
