Renowned innovator and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk has entered the 19th day of his indefinite hunger strike. His health is becoming a matter of serious concern. Reports indicate that he has lost 8.9 kg, raising fears about his physical condition.
In a democracy, dialogue should always come before silence. Many citizens are disappointed that despite the prolonged protest, meaningful public engagement has not taken place. We sincerely hope that nothing happens to Sonam Wangchuk and that his health improves soon. If his condition worsens while his concerns remain unaddressed, many people will question whether enough was done to resolve the issue through timely dialogue.
CJP believes that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should take responsibility for the current situation and resign. This is the official opinion of our organization.
Today, people from different parts of the country visited Jantar Mantar to express solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk.
CJP President Abhijit Dipke and party members have appealed to citizens across India to observe a one-day symbolic hunger strike in support of Sonam Wangchuk and his movement. We urge everyone who believes in democracy and peaceful protest to participate voluntarily.
We appeal to every citizen to join the peaceful "Chalo Sansad" rally on 20 July. Let us stand together for democracy, accountability, justice, and meaningful dialogue through peaceful and constitutional means.
Stand with Sonam Wangchuk.
Stand for Democracy.
Stand for Justice.
